May 15th-
So, Nickie, the kids and I took a weekend trip to Harrison, AR. to visit Dave (Nickie's dad)and Bonnie's new place. On the way, Nickie spotted this old carnival trailer on the side of the road on someone's land. She saw it read, "Ding Dong Days." We thought that sounded kind of funny. I got out and saw someone standing on the porch and I asked if I could shoot it. The guy was super cool and didn't mind at all. He walked me over to it and I shot the facing side which was pretty faded. He told me the backside looked better. Either way, I thought it was a cool piece of history and I love how these came out.
May 16th-
Today we went downtown to the Harrison Crawfish Festival. The kids took boat rides, ate fried Oreos and Snicker bars and we watched David eat several pounds of crawfish.
May 17th-
Today we did a lot of driving around, sightseeing and checking out a few amazing trails and waterfalls. These are from an awesome lookout point.
This guy was on one of the trails we hiked.

These first images of the Jerry "The King" Lawler mural is located in the Broad Street art district near the Wiseacre Brewery. I love it!
The Tennessee Brewery "Revival" is going on again this year. They've opened up the bottom floors and the courtyard this year to include art dealers, bands, food trucks and local craft brewers. It's good to see so much attention being paid to this old building.
This year they opened up the windows and brought in the ol' "Invest In Good Times" monster.
Another painting by the same guy that did the Lawler one.

Jack White's "Rolling Record Store" truck that has travelled from Nashville to California and back made it's final stop at Sun Studios in Memphis today. I decided to go down and see what they had for sale and also to shoot some TTV's. I'm glad I did. I love how these came out. I also had a good time talking with Cam and Angelina from Third Man. Angelina and I talked photography and she was interested in my TTV contraption. She was cool enough to let me shoot a few of her.

Nickie and I took a day trip to Nashville today to attend "Record Store Day" at Jack White's Third Man Records. As we were standing in line, I was shocked to see Loren Turner from Foxy Shazam across the street. I went over and chatted for a few minutes and met the guys in his new music project called The Trolley Dodgers. He was very excited to see that I had my TTV camera with me and asked if I could shoot a few of the band. They haven't had any photos taken of them yet. So weird how things work out. It totally made the trip for me getting to shoot them. Really nice guys!

Nickie and I took a quick trip to Nashville and before we headed home today, we had breakfast at Elliston Place Soda Shop. This place is the oldest continuously operating restaurant in Nashville and is worth a visit. By the way, their chocolate cherry milk shake is the best shake I've ever had!!

I've seen this old neon liquor sign a few other times and I had to TTV it. Really cool sign.
This painting is on the side of Nashville's own Fat Bottom Brewery.

Yesterday, Nickie and I arrived in St.Louis to see our boys Foxy Shazam. I had an idea before we went to try and shoot a roll of medium format black and white film on the band. Six guys in the band. Two frames of film on each guy will complete a roll of 12 exposures. Last time I tried to do a series on Foxy, I got 5 out of 6 of the guys. I wanted to make sure this time that I got all six.
Anyway, it turned out perfect and they were all super cool about my project. A big "thank you" to Foxy Shazam. These guys are the greatest!!
Today, we walked around the West End in St.Louis. It's basically a long strip of different stores. Rocket Fizz was really cool. They had hundreds of different kinds of soda varieties and tons of taffy flavors.
Vintage Vinyl Record store. You know that you're a kid of the 70's and 80's if the sight of a Peaches Records crate brings back awesome memories!!

Today was the last day of the "Tennessee Brewery Untapped." The last ditch effort to save the old brewery downtown. The campaign was very successful. Hopefully it will be enough to get the right people involved to save this building. If not, they'll be tearing it down in a few months.
I met my boys Corey and Terry down there so they could check it out. We also walked over to Central Bar-b-que and had a great lunch. Then, on our way back, we found a few more things to shoot some photos of.

This is Anna, a friend of Corey's that we ran into. She was interested in my TTV contraption so I shot a few of her.
